About the position

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Product Director to lead the transformation of Softonic, a pioneer in the software distribution industry with more than 25 years of experience.

Softonic is a global leader in software distribution, with a reach of over 100 million users per month. We are a trusted destination for people to find and download software, and we are committed to providing our users with the best possible experience.

As Product Director, you will be responsible for shaping our product strategy and vision. You will work closely with our engineering, marketing, and sales teams to develop and execute plans that will grow our user base and increase our market share.

You will also be responsible for managing our product team. You will need to be able to motivate and inspire your team, and you will need to have a strong understanding of software development processes.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in the software industry. You will have a deep understanding of mobile technologies and monetisation strategies. You will also have a strong understanding of the software distribution industry.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

Developing and executing the product strategy

Managing the product team

Working with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment

Driving innovation and growth

You will need to be adaptable to the ever-evolving landscape, especially in privacy and mobile monetisation areas. You will also need to be able to work independently and as part of a team.

REQUIREMENTS

Key responsibilities

Develop and communicate a compelling product vision and strategy aligned with the company’s goals and market trends based on customer needs, market analysis and business objectives

Play the leading role, working closely with other stakeholders such as: Sales, Affiliation, Ad Operations etc. in the definition, implementation and optimization of software & apps distribution across all of Softonic’s properties

Develop Softonic’s mobile strategy for the future with focus on users, partners, and monetisation

Define the product roadmap and align with key stakeholders

Analyse new initiatives from a perspective of viability, cost of implementation and alignment with company strategy

Lead advertising product initiatives with the aim to deliver value to both users and clients

Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify market opportunities and ensure our products remain competitive

Use data analytics, user research, and market insights to make informed decisions and drive product improvements.

Stay ahead of advertising trends and share relevant news and best practices

Set working dynamics that improve team performance and internal communication with our technology team and other key stakeholders

Be the leader and mentor for a motivated cross-functional product team, ranging from product managers to designers and beyond

Bring your personality, approach and processes to create a healthy, efficient and competitive environment with a “fail fast to learn fast” mindset

Minimum Experience and qualifications

8+ years of experience as a product manager in online products, with at least 3 of those years in a management position.

You are hands-on and operations-driven, and you don't mind getting your hands dirty.

You have experience as a Head of Product or Product Director in products that are monetized through advertising.

You have experience in mobile, video, and/or affiliation.

You have a good understanding of Agile methodologies (e.g., SCRUM) and have experience in all phases of a product lifecycle, from planning to development to market launch.

You have experience with lean startup development practices.

You are analytical and have the ability to use data to drive decision-making.

You have a good understanding of the core drivers of online advertising, mobile marketing, and growth tactics.

You can develop and communicate a clear technical vision for a product, and you can align that vision with business objectives and long-term strategic goals.

You can lead and motivate cross-functional product teams, fostering collaboration and driving a culture of innovation.
